Visit From the Fire and Rescue Service

We had a visit from Lancashire County Fire and Rescue Service. They firefighters came and gave an assembly on the importance of fire safety to the children. After the assembley our reception and nursery classes were given a tour of the fire engine. They were able to sit inside and look and touch the different pieces of equipment the firefighters used and shown what they were used for. The children, and some teachers, were able to use the fire hose to squirt water across our car park.

Our New Playground

Over the easter holidays we have had some exciting work happening with our Key Stage 1 and EYFS playgrounds. Mrs. Nightingale has been working hard designing and planning our new playground equipment so that the pupils are able to have even more fun at break and dinnertimes. We have had new climbing frames, slides, floors and even an assault course put in place and it all looks a lot of fun.

During the holidays the workmen and builders were hard at work building the new equipment and making sure everything was safe and ready for when the pupils came back. Mrs Nightingale came in with them to make sure they followed her exciting plans and made sure that the equipment would be lots of fun.

Here are some photos of the workers working and showing them building our new equipment.
